Cruz: Texans ask me to sign ‘Green Eggs and Ham’

Since reading “Green Eggs and Ham” during his more than 21-hour speech on the Senate floor, Sen. Ted Cruz says he’s become simply surrounded by all things Dr. Seuss.

Between attacks on ObamaCare, the Texas Republican famously read the children’s classic to his two young daughters last month.

“I have had a number of Texans who’ve asked me to sign ‘Green Eggs and Ham,’ Cruz, 42, told The Hill.

And the Seuss-related fandom doesn’t end with books — it even extends to baked goods.

“We actually had a rally back in Houston where a number of grassroots supporters presented me with a cake that was made in the shape of green eggs and ham.”

The sweet-tooth version of the grassy-hued breakfast foods was a big hit with at least two of his most fervent supporters: “I gave [the cake] to my girls, and it made them very happy. They thought that was the coolest part of the whole rally.”
