Jill Biden says even a little lipstick can go a long way.
The vice president’s wife was on-hand Thursday at the Newsbabes Bash for Breast Cancer, where she joined some of Washington’s news anchors in raising money for support programs around the nation’s capital.
{mosads}Donning a hot pink cocktail dress and matching pumps for the bubble-gum-color-themed festivities, Biden encouraged the packed crowd at Powerhouse in Georgetown to help friends or family battling cancer in any way they could.
“The little things matter,” Biden said. “Once during a down period in my life, a friend bought me a red Chanel lipstick: It was a small gesture that made all the difference.”
Organizers estimate the bash raised more than $30,000 for the night’s beneficiary, Survivors Offering Support.
