Reality star brings ‘Southern Charm’ to DC

WE HEAR: A reality television star is putting on the charm on Monday night and raising money for his South Carolina Senate campaign at a Washington eatery.

Thomas Ravenel, who stars in Bravo’s “Southern Charm,” is running as an independent in the November race, but is considered a long shot against South Carolina’s Republican incumbent Sen. Lindsey Graham.

When ITK popped in, Bravo crews were busy setting up to film in a private space at P.J. Clarke’s Sidecar bar in downtown Washington, according to a restaurant worker there.

The worker called the filming a “last-minute thing.” Monday was also Ravenel’s 52nd birthday.

Ravenel, son of former Rep. Arthur Ravenel (R-S.C.), formerly served as a GOP state treasurer in the Palmetto State before resigning after being indicted on drug trafficking charges. On the first season of “Southern Charm,” he was seen pondering another run for office.

On the show he met his now-girlfriend, 22-year-old Kathryn Dennis. In March, she gave birth to a daughter, Kensington Calhoun. On Sunday evening, Dennis tweeted that the couple was in D.C.
