Same lawmaker who nailed Super Bowl score picks seven Oscar winners
Things are getting downright eerily predictable for Rep. Eric Swalwell — just weeks after nailing the final score of the Super Bowl, the California Democrat correctly guessed the winners in seven of the top categories at the Academy Awards.
Prior to Sunday’s Oscars, the 34-year-old congressman tweeted out who he thought would take home the golden statue on Sunday in the Best Picture, Actor and Actress, Supporting Actor and Actress, Adapted Screenplay, and Original Song categories.
Swalwell’s film forecast turned out to be spot-on as he went seven for seven with his picks:
My #Oscars2015 predictions are in! Who do you think will take home a golden statue tonight? pic.twitter.com/kmOWg7DVhx

Earlier this month, Swalwell offered a pigskin prophecy that also came true. As the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots were tied at halftime at the Super Bowl, Swalwell correctly predicted the Patriots would win with a score of 28-24.
At least one Twitter user seemed to consider Swalwell Congress’ token psychic, writing:
@RepSwalwell Um, I'm a little frightened since you were 7 for 7 (plus you predicted Super Bowl score dead on). #FutureNostradamus

So what’s the secret to Swalwell’s conjecture success?
“I predicted the Oscar winners the same way I picked the Super Bowl score, asking my 1 ½ year old nephew, Nolan,” he tells ITK.
The congressman also says coyly to “stay tuned” because he “has many thoughts about March Madness.”
