Members of Congress are among those saluting Leonard Nimoy, following the “Star Trek” actor’s death on Friday.
The 83-year-old entertainer, who rose to fame as Mr. Spock in the sci-fi series and subsequent movies, died at his California home of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, The New York Times reported, citing confirmation from his family.
Rep. Jeff Duncan gave a Vulcan salute to the camera to remember Nimoy. The South Carolina Republican wrote on Twitter:
Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), offered a spin on one of Nimoy’s most well-known phrases, “Live long and prosper,” uttered in the show after giving the Vulcan salute.
