Lawmaker’s dog has its day
Rep. Gerry Connolly’s beloved pooch may soon need an agent — the congressman’s canine is now a cover model.
The Virginia Democrat and his poodle-bichon mix, Abigail Adams Connolly, share the spotlight on the front of the latest edition of the local Fairfax Connection newspaper, posing together in Connolly’s Capitol Hill office.
The Connollys adopted the white furry friend from a local animal shelter in 2010 after the death of their previous dog, George Washington Connolly.
We hear Abigail is an occasional visitor to Connolly’s Rayburn House Office Building workspace, preferring to spend her time in the lawmaker’s chair at the desk in his office.
