Web sellers cash in on Clinton controversy with ‘Eric Hoteham’ merchandise

Internet entrepreneurs are attempting to cash in on the Hillary Clinton email controversy with an array of “Eric Hoteham”-themed products.

{mosads}The New York Times broke the story earlier this week that Clinton used a personal email account, rather than a government one, during her time serving as secretary of State. The Associated Press reported Wednesday that an email server was created at the former first lady’s New York home, which may have been registered under the mysterious name, “Eric Hoteham.”

Now, for $22, customers on Zazzle.com can be the proud owners of their very own, “Who is Eric Hoteham?” T-shirt. A description for the item on Zazzle — which sells merchandise created by its users — says the shirt “wears well on anyone.” Its maker says about the design, simply, “Who is Erich [sic] Hoteham? Hillary Clinton email scandal.”

Another Zazzle user designed a variety of drinkware inspired by the unknown Hoteham. A $26 spill-proof travel mug, bearing a silhouette of a faceless character and the words, “Je Suis Eric Hoteham,” is currently sold out on the site.

The Chicago-based designer, which is also selling $19 basic white mugs on the website, offers a misspelled description of the travel mug, writing, “Because Hillary’s email is Konfidential and speshal.”
