CBS nabs real, fictional secretaries of State for WHCD

Two secretaries of State — a real-life former one, Madeleine Albright, and the Hollywood version, Téa Leoni, — will attend the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner this weekend.

Albright and Leoni, who plays the fictional title role on “Madam Secretary,” will both be guests of CBS News at the April 25 festivities in Washington.

{mosads}It’s not the first time the fiction-meets-reality pair have come face-to-face. Albright appeared at the premiere of “Madam Secretary” last year in the nation’s capital. Leoni has said in previous interviews she was in awe when she first met Albright, telling Vogue, “I was so starstruck I simply became an idiot.”

Other attendees with CBS include: Golden Globe-winning actress Gina Rodriguez of the CW’s “Jane The Virgin” and her boyfriend, actor Henri Esteve; “Madam Secretary” co-star Tim Daly; Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.); Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Julián Castro and his twin brother, Rep. Joaquín Castro (D-Texas), Lebanon Ambassador to the United States Antoine Chedid; and former Ambassador to Italy David Thorne.
