Tapper to take over ‘State of the Union’
CNN anchor Jake Tapper will take the helm of “State of the Union,” the network’s headline Sunday morning political talk show, in June, the network announced Friday.
{mosads}A video released by the network highlighted Tapper’s experience interviewing high-profile individuals, as well as his time reporting from the field.
He joined CNN in 2012 and was previously senior White House correspondent for ABC News.
Tapper will continue to anchor “The Lead,” his weeknight program, and remain CNN’s chief Washington correspondent.
The last permanent host of “State of the Union,” Candy Crowley, left the network in December.
Tapper is not the only fresh face to join a Sunday show in June. CBS’s Political Director John Dickerson will take over for “Face the Nation” anchor Bob Schieffer.
