Scott Brown takes up bicycle repair
Former Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass.) may be leaving his famous pickup truck behind for a new job: bicycle mechanic.
Brown, who lost a Senate bid last year to New Hampshire incumbent Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D), is volunteering at a bike shop in the state.
{mosads}“Back in December, I came in and said, ‘Listen, I don’t need a job; I don’t need any money, but I’ve always wanted to learn how to put together and take apart bikes’ ” Brown tells the local site Seacoastonline.com.
The ex-lawmaker and avid cyclist, 55, puts together bicycles at Gus’ Bike Shop in the Granite State a few days a week, which he says gets him out of the house and “doing different things.”
“I go up, drag it down, rip it out of the box, and then basically, you pull it apart, and you put it all together,” he said.
The volunteer gig is part of his “bucket list,” Brown, a Fox News Channel contributor, says, before election season heats up again next year. He tells the site, “I have a few more that I am looking forward to doing, then I have to get back to business.”
