Ex-Capitol staffer begins at CNN
WE HEAR: Former Hill staffer Amanda Carpenter officially reported for duty on Tuesday for her new job as a CNN political commentator.
Carpenter, whose five years on Capitol Hill included working as a speechwriter for former Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) and as a communications director for Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), has more than 56,000 Twitter followers.
The former congressional aide appears to already have at least one loyal viewer. Carpenter tells ITK that her three-year-old daughter “really gets a kick out of ‘Mommy being on TV,’ so knowing she’s probably watching always makes me smile a little bigger.”
