Katy Perry set to ‘Roar’ for Hillary
Pop star Katy Perry will perform at a rally for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign in Des Moines, Iowa, later this month.
The “Roar” and “Firework” singer will make an appearance at an Oct. 24 campaign stop before the Iowa Democratic Party’s annual Jefferson-Jackson Dinner.
{mosads}Perry has publicly backed Clinton’s White House bid, offering to write a theme song for the Democratic primary front-runner.
She is the latest pop culture starlet to hop on the Clinton bandwagon.
Singer Christina Aguilera will host a fundraiser for Clinton in Beverly Hills on Nov. 4, and actor Ron Reiner will host Clinton the next day at a Los Angeles event, according to CNN.
Clinton has tried to infuse her campaign with celebrity in order to court the youth vote, part of a plan to revitalize her image.
The former first lady has made appearances on “Ellen,” “The Tonight Show,” and “Saturday Night Live” recently and sat down for an interview with “Girls” star Lena Dunham.
Perry campaigned for President Obama’s reelection bid in 2012.
