Lena Dunham to stump for Hillary

Actress Lena Dunham will stump for Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton’s campaign in January.

“Very excited to hit the road for @HillaryClinton in 2016,” Dunham, the creator and star of HBO’s “Girls,” tweeted on Tuesday. “Iowa on Jan 9. and more stops announced soon! What does a STUMPER wear!?”

Dunham will make stops in Des Moines and Iowa City, The Des Moines Register reported.

{mosads}”Lena has spent a lot of time with Hillary, and I bet she’s got some great stories to share,” Michelle Kleppe, the Iowa organizing director for Hillary for America, told the paper.

This won’t be the pair’s first political encounter. In September, Dunham interviewed Clinton in a campaign effort to reach out to millennial and female voters. Asked by Dunham if she considers herself a feminist, Clinton responded “absolutely.”

“I’m always a little bit puzzled when any woman of whatever age, but particularly a young woman, says something like, ‘Well, I believe in equal rights but I’m not a feminist.’” Clinton told Dunham. “Well, a feminist by definition is someone who believes in equal rights.”

Clinton leads Democratic rival Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) in national polls. A recent poll, though, found him leading Clinton among voters between ages 18 and 29.
