The daughter of former Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass.) has been tapped to sing the “Star-Spangled Banner” ahead of Tuesday’s GOP presidential debate.

{mosads}Calling it an “honor,” Ayla Brown, 27, writes in an email to supporters, “Sitting in the Venetian Hotel on the Las Vegas Strip, I’m pinching myself!” The singer and former “American Idol” contestant says she’ll be performing “God Bless America” before the first, undercard debate on CNN, and the national anthem before the main event.

Brown also details sharing an elevator ride before the debate with one of the Republican candidates, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee.

“He’s one of the nicest men I’ve ever met and even said, ‘Hi Ayla!’” Brown writes. “Huckabee is a really good guitar player and he loves country music — so he’s aces with me!”

Brown says she’s had fun gambling with her mom while at the casinos in Vegas: “So far, we are ahead of the game, but I’m sure that won’t last through the trip.”
