‘Swipe the Vote’ party kicks off Nerd Prom weekend

The rain in D.C. did nothing to dampen the mood at the #SwipetheVote party hosted by Tinder, Rock the Vote and the Independent Journal Review ahead of the White House Correspondents’ Association annual dinner.

{mosads}Held at the POV lounge on the roof of the W Washington D.C. hotel, the Thursday night event was a worthy kickoff to Washington’s Nerd Prom weekend. Focused on Washington’s journalists, partygoers were encouraged to swipe right on the male and female entrants they wanted to be crowned King and Queen.

Independent Journal Review also handed out yearbooks with high school senior photos of Washington’s elite political journos such as Jake Tapper, Ashley Parker and Chris Cilizza.

Those in attendance included “House of Cards” stars Michael Kelly and Neve Campbell, along with journalist Michelle Fields, who’s been in the news lately for her run-in with Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski. Also spotted: Michelle Obama’s makeup artist, Carl Ray.
