Republican celebs make convention debut

Willie Robertson is making a prime-time pitch for Donald Trump, saying the presumptive Republican presidential nominee “will have your back.”

{mosads}“If you’re an average American who feels like you’ve been forgotten … neglected by far-away leaders … that the deck is stacked against you and you just can’t win … Donald Trump will have your back,” the “Duck Dynasty” star said Monday in Cleveland.

Robertson was among an eclectic group of celebrities to take the stage on the first night of the Republican National Convention in an attempt to drum up support for Trump.

“He may not always tell you what you want to hear,” Robertson told the crowd. “You may not always agree, and it may not always be politically correct.

“But Donald Trump will always — always — tell you the truth as he sees it.”

Scott Baio, of “Happy Days“ and “Charles in Charge” fame, made his own plea.

“Hillary Clinton wants to be president for her,” Baio said of the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee. “Donald Trump wants to be president for us.”

Baio told ITK the invite to speak came just days ago from Trump himself.

“You’ve been so good to me, and such a good friend, and loyal,” Baio says Trump exclaimed. “That was Thursday,” Baio said. “Today’s Monday.”

Former Calvin Klein model and actor Antonio Sabàto Jr. also came out swinging for Trump.

Speaking of his own path to American citizenship, Sabàto said, “I followed all the rules and finally became a naturalized citizen in 1996.

“Others who want to come to the U.S. … should follow the same rules,” the Italian-born actor said to cheers.
