Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt to divorce
Angelina Jolie — who frequently brings her star power to Washington — is reportedly seeking a divorce from Brad Pitt.
The Oscar-winning actress, who married her longtime partner in 2014, cited irreconcilable differences in her divorce documents filed Monday, according to TMZ.

Jolie, a United Nations special envoy, has made several trips to the nation’s capital over the years and has used her fame to shine a spotlight on international humanitarian relief programs.
The “Maleficent” star, 41, met with lawmakers on Capitol Hill in 2005 and has hinted at some day getting involved in politics herself.
“It’s not something I’m actively seeking at this moment,” she said in 2014 of a political run, adding, “However, if I found I could be useful, I would consider it.”
Her husband Pitt, 52, recently spoke out about the 2016 presidential election, saying in a New York Times interview, “I can’t bring myself to think that [GOP nominee Donald] Trump will be in charge.”
Jolie told ITK in 2012 that she would often discuss politics with Pitt at home, saying, “I travel to a lot of places and I come home quite chatty about something I’ve witnessed, or something I’ve experienced, or something I’m angry about. I’ve gone a few times to the [International Criminal Court], to The Hague, to just sit and witness the trials. I’m kind of a closet geek so I talk about a lot of different things.”
Pitt concurred, saying to ITK at the time that the two often would debate “how to get things done.”
