Obama weighs in on daughters dating
President Obama says when it comes to his daughters dating, he doesn’t have much to worry about — because he could always sic the Secret Service on any potential suitors.
“The truth is, I’m pretty relaxed about it for two reasons,” Obama told Raleigh, N.C., radio station WDCG, when asked about his teenage daughters entering the dating world.
{mosads}“One is Michelle — she’s such a great example of how she carries herself, her self-esteem, not depending on boys to validate how you look, not letting yourself be judged by anything other than your character and intelligence,” Obama said, before adding, “And hopefully I’ve been a good example in terms of how I’ve shown respect to my wife.”
“So I don’t worry about it because they’re really solid, smart girls — young ladies now,” the commander in chief said of Malia, 18, and Sasha, 15.
“And the other reason is because they’ve had Secret Service — there’s only so much these guys can do,” Obama said with a laugh. “These poor young men that come by the house.”
“They have no idea,” radio hosts Bob Dumas and Erica DeLong remarked.
“Oh, they have an idea,” Obama chuckled, “I describe for them.”
