Alec Baldwin, novelist teaming up for satirical Trump book

Actor and comedian Alec Baldwin is teaming up with novelist Kurt Andersen to write a satirical book on President Trump, The New York Times reported Wednesday.

The joint project will be called “You Can’t Spell America Without Me: The Really Tremendous Inside Story of My Fantastic First Year as President Donald J. Trump” and will be published by Penguin Press in November.

Baldwin, who frequently plays the president in various “Saturday Night Live” skits, will also be narrating the audio version of the book.

{mosads}Andersen also has experience with comedy — in the 1980s, he served as a founding editor of Spy magazine, which called Trump a “short-fingered vulgarian,” according to the Times.

“I didn’t think this former hobby of mine would return with this ferocity,” the novelist told the newspaper.

“I think we’ll be channeling and amplifying the real Trump … Writing for a five- or 10-minute sketch is different than writing a book, which has to be a narrative,” he added.

Baldwin also told the Times that Andersen will do most of the writing and that the pair “have that arrangement whereby he doesn’t put on the wig, I don’t open up a Word document.”
