Keegan-Michael Key revives role as Obama’s ‘anger translator’
Keegan-Michael Key brought back his performance as former President Obama’s “anger translator” on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” Tuesday, screaming and pacing as he channeled the rage he imagines Obama feels about current events.
Key first played the character “Luther” on the Comedy Central sketch show “Key and Peele,” later bringing it alongside the real-life commander in chief at one of his White House Correspondents’ Association dinners.
Key has not acted as Obama’s “anger translator” since President Trump took office.

“There’s probably something brewing up in Luther,” Key said when Colbert asked about how Obama feels about his successor’s term so far.
“TrumpCare? More like Trump Don’t Care. I’m talking about ‘Don T. Care.’ Don’t Care,” he screamed.
In particular, Key singled out Trump’s signature plan for a border wall with Mexico as a source of fury.
“I spent eight years tearing down walls and this [expletive] wants to put them all up,” he said.
