Kasich mourns Linkin Park singer’s death: ‘This is a sad day’
Ohio Gov. John Katich (R) on Thursday mourned the death of Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington.
“I’m still a big fan of [Linkin Park]. Met Chester in Columbus & he was kind enough to call my daughters on the phone,” Kasich tweeted. “This is a sad day.”

{mosads}Police are investigating Bennington’s death Thursday as a suicide, CNN reported.
Kasich tweeted out a photo of Bennington calling his daughters before a show in May 2015.
“Chester from [Linkin Park] gave my girls a call before their show. I get to be the cool dad tonight,” he tweeted alongside the photo.

Kasich has listed Linkin Park as one of his favorite bands. The former Republican presidential candidate admitted his love for the group at a GOP town hall last year.
“Well I like Linkin Park, and I’m not talking about Chicago,” he joked at the time.
