LA Dodgers pitcher mocks Trump ‘both sides’ comment
Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Brandon McCarthy mocked President Trump’s “both sides” comment on the violence in Charlottesville, Va., over the weekend by comparing the two opposing groups of protesters to those fighting during World War II.
“On one hand you had the Nazis who were violent [and] on the other the allied soldiers were very violent. So it’s a draw. Many sides you see,” the starting pitcher said.

McCarthy is known for using his Twitter account to voice political opinions, often aimed at Trump.
His comments follow Trump’s press briefing Tuesday, during which he doubled down on claims that “both sides” are to blame for violence during a white supremacist rally that ultimately resulted in one death and at least 19 people injured.{mosads}
The neo-Nazi and white supremacist rally was planned to protest the removal of a statue of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee in the city. Trump appeared to defend their protest on Tuesday.
“George Washington was a slave owner. Was George Washington a slave owner? So, will George Washington now lose his status?” Trump said Tuesday. “Are we going to take down … statues to George Washington?”
In that press conference, the president sparred with reporters and criticized the “alt-left” for being “very, very violent” in confronting white supremacist and neo-Nazi groups.
“What about the alt-left that came charging at the — as you say, the alt-right?” Trump asked. “Do they have any semblance of guilt? What about the fact they came charging with clubs in their hands, swinging clubs? Do they have any problem? I think they do. As far as I am concerned, that was a horrible, horrible day.”
