Tyler Perry predicts Oprah, Michelle Obama will never run for office
Tyler Perry says he doubts that his friend, Oprah Winfrey, and former first lady Michelle Obama will “ever” run for president.
“I don’t think that’s gonna ever happen,” Perry told ITK at the Thursday premiere in Washington for his new film, “Tyler Perry’s Boo 2: A Madea Halloween!” when asked if the former talk show queen would ever make a White House bid.
“I don’t think she’s ever going to run,” Perry said.

Winfrey flat-out denied any speculation that she might run for office, after she previously suggested that President Trump’s victory had made her rethink the amount of political experience it took to win an election.
Oprah recently reignited chatter about a potential political bid after she tweeted thanking a New York Post opinion writer for endorsing her for a run in 2020. Her representatives later denied she was running for office.
Michelle Obama has also shut down talk of launching her own presidential campaign, echoing her husband’s determination to continue to serve the country as a private citizen after leaving the White House.
“I don’t think Michelle Obama will ever run because first of all Michelle’s been there eight years and Michelle is like ‘if you knew how hard this job was you would know that nobody —’ that she wouldn’t want to do it,” Perry said of Obama. “But I don’t think she’ll ever run.”
Perry’s new movie, “Tyler Perry’s Boo 2! A Madea Halloween” will come to theaters on Oct. 20.
