Jason Aldean returns to Las Vegas to visit mass shooting victims
Singer Jason Aldean returned to Las Vegas on Sunday, one week after nearly 60 people were killed and 500 injured in a mass shooting during his performance at an outdoor concert.
During his trip, the country music star visited survivors at the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada. The hospital thanked him in a post on their Facebook page.
“Our extreme gratitude to Country Music Star Jason Aldean for visiting UMC today,” the post reads. “Jason spent time with our patients who were critically injured during the Las Vegas shooting. His visit helped heal hearts and cheer those who were wounded in this tragedy. #vegasstrong”
{mosads}Aldean’s wife, Brittany Aldean, posted a photo on Instagram of the couple looking toward the Mandalay Bay hotel, the building from which the shooter fired into the crowd at the Route 91 Harvest Festival.
“Feels surreal being back in Vegas today,” Brittany Aldean wrote in the caption. “Visiting some of the strongest people we have ever met… fighting the toughest battle of them all… for their lives. You have helped us try to begin the healing process by seeing the strength each one of you have. Thank you for today. We will never forget. #vegasstrong”
One day earlier, Aldean performed Tom Petty’s “I Won’t Back Down” during an appearance on “Saturday Night Live.” The rock music legend died last week.
