Colbert: Trump is ‘like a toddler’
Stephen Colbert slammed President Trump after the president suggested he and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson compare IQ scores.
On “The Late Show” Tuesday night, Colbert joked that he had gotten ahold of the IQ scores, showing that Tillerson scored 120, and Trump drew a crayon picture of himself driving a truck with “MAGA” written on it.
“So it’s a toss-up, we’re not entirely sure,” Colbert said.
Trump proposed the IQ test in an interview with Forbes, responding to a question about the allegations that Tillerson called the president a “moron.”
The White House said Tuesday that the president’s comments were said in jest.
{mosads}Colbert continued to slam the president’s intelligence, comparing him to a toddler. He cited a Politico report that said White House staffers have to use visual aids and parenting-like tactics to distract Trump from making bad decisions.
In one example, an executive for the Trump Organization said that they had to ignore Trump’s instructions and hope that he forgot about it the following day.
“Like a toddler, Trump lacks object permanence,” Colbert said. “What NAFTA deal, Donald? There’s no NAFTA deal, it rolled behind the couch, it’s gone forever.”
