Rose McGowan accuses Harvey Weinstein of rape
Actress Rose McGowan is joining the growing number of women who have accused film producer Harvey Weinstein of rape, tweeting at Amazon’s CEO that she reported the rape to the head of Amazon’s film company.
In a tweet to Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos on Thursday night, McGowan, who had previously been one of the original women to accuse Weinstein of sexual harassment, became the fourth to accuse him of rape.
1) @jeffbezos I told the head of your studio that HW raped me. Over & over I said it. He said it hadn’t been proven. I said I was the proof.

In subsequent tweets, she urges Bezos to stop funding “alleged [pedophiles] and sexual harassers” in the industry. She also accused Amazon of winning a “dirty Oscar.”
4) @jeffbezos I am calling on you to stop funding rapists, alleged pedos and sexual harassers. I love @amazon but there is rot in Hollywood

McGowan’s accusation comes the same day her Twitter account was reinstated after it was temporarily banned Wednesday night over a tweet containing a personal phone number. Her supporters lashed out at the social media platform, saying it was trying to silence a victim who deserved to speak out.

Weinstein’s spokesperson denied the latest accusation in a statement to CNN. Weinstein was fired on Monday from his film company, The Weinstein Company and has announced he plans to seek treatment for sex addiction.
“Any allegations of nonconsensual sex are unequivocally denied by Mr. Weinstein,” a spokeswoman for Weinstein told CNN.
On Friday, supporters of McGowan and the other actresses announced a boycott of Twitter, spearheaded by model Chrissy Teigen, in support of victims of sexual assault, and to urge the website to make changes.
“Let’s do this. #WomenBoycottTwitter. Not because of hate but because I love this platform and know it can be better,” Teigen wrote Thursday.
