Trevor Noah slams conservatives using Chicago’s murder rates for political gain
Trevor Noah ripped conservatives who he says use Chicago’s murder rates for political gain.
While filming “The Daily Show” from Chicago on Monday night, Noah focused his opening monologue on the way President Trump and other prominent conservatives talk about the Windy City.
“If I just believed what I saw on TV, I’d never want to come to Chicago,” Noah said. “According to the president, Chicago is basically Syria, but with different pizza.”
{mosads}Noah played several clips of Trump talking about Chicago throughout the campaign, where the president called the city “worse than Afghanistan” because of the city’s high murder rate.
Noah also focused on conservative commentators and politicians who have blamed President Obama for not addressing violence in Chicago because it is his hometown.
“Oh, now I get it,” Noah said. “When there’s shootings, Obama’s from Chicago, all the other times, he’s from Kenya. Now it makes sense. … These people don’t care about Chicago’s murder rates, they care about how they can use Chicago to score political points.”
