Jay Z: Americans ‘way more sexist than they are racist’

Grammy award-winning rapper Jay Z said that Americans are “way more sexist than they are racist” in remarks at a Sunday concert in Cleveland.

Jay Z made the comments as he addressed a 9-year-old girl in the audience and told her she could some day be president of the United States, according to a video posted by TMZ.

“You can be anything that you want to be in the world,” he said. “At this very moment, America is way more sexist than they are racist. But you, young lady, you got the potential to be the next president of the United States. You believe that.”

Jay Z has previously brought attention to social issues and has been a sharp critic of President Trump, calling his presidency a “joke” in September.

{mosads}Jay Z and his wife Beyoncé were prominent supporters of former President Obama and Hillary Clinton.
