Stephen Colbert compiles ‘Trump’s Valentine’s Day card’ to Melania

Stephen Colbert stepped in to help President Trump express his feelings to first lady Melania Trump, sharing a mashed-up video of Trump clips edited into a “Valentine’s Day card.”

The “Late Show” video splices together clips from election night, Inauguration Day and other moments throughout Trump’s first year in office.

“Melania, I just wanted to say, from the bottom of my heart, which, by the way, is so strong, good stamina, unlike Hillary, which is why she lost the election,” Trump says in the video. “Remember that? November 8, wasn’t that a great evening?”

{mosads}“But anyway, Melania,” he continues. “Such a wonderful, beautiful woman. But more importantly, I won with women. That’s very important. I love women!”

In a series of audio clips, Trump proclaims his love for New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, South Carolina, Florida and more. He also notes the various groups who he says love him.

“The bikers love me, the Asians love me, the Hispanics love me,” he says. “The African-Americans, they love me, I love them.”

The video ends with a slow-motion clip of Melania, set to audio of Trump nearly proclaiming his love for his wife.

“But baby I’ll tell you what, I love, I love, I love Utah,” he says. “I mean Utah, did you see how many points I won by Utah? This thing wasn’t even close, like, massive.”

The first couple’s relationship has been the focus of scrutiny in recent weeks after it was reported that Trump’s personal lawyer arranged a hush money payment to an adult film star who claimed to have had an affair with Trump soon after the birth of his and Melania’s son, Barron.

Soon after the reports, Melania Trump canceled her planned trip with the president to the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, instead making a surprise solo visit to the Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C., and to President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Fla. They also traveled separately to the State of the Union address last month.
