Director of upcoming Ruth Bader Ginsburg biopic says justice ‘loves’ the movie

Mimi Leder, the director of an upcoming biopic about Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, said the justice “loves” the movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The film, “On the Basis of Sex,” stars Felicity Jones. It will run in some theaters on November 9.

“Madame Justice loves the movie. Her nephew wrote it and she approved the script. Her reviews of Ms. Jones were magnificent,” Leder said.

In the movie, Ginsberg is portrayed as a young attorney working alongside her husband to bring a gender discrimination case before a federal appeals court.

Leder said the “film is more relevant now than ever,” comparing Ginsburg to fictional boxer Rocky Balboa because she “never gives up,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Ginsburg reportedly makes a cameo in Leder’s movie.
