Whitney Cummings, a comedian and former “Roseanne” executive producer, said she would oppose any reboot of the show that would allow Roseanne Barr to benefit financially, TMZ reported Monday.
“My heart is broken about it. I don’t really have words at the moment, but maybe they can salvage the legacy in some way but, if it benefits her financially, it’s a bad move,” Cummings said.
ABC canceled “Roseanne” last month shortly after Barr posted a racist tweet about Valerie Jarrett, who had been an aide to former President Obama.

“Muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj,” Barr, an avid supporter of President Trump, wrote using Jarrett’s initials.
Cummings, who left the show before Barr made her racist remarks, said the show’s end was a shame for everyone who worked on it.
“All the cast and crew are so proud of the work that we did,” Cummings said.
“I’m just trying to heal from the whole thing and make sense of it all,” she said. “I was just as horrified as everybody else and really heartbroken about it, so I am just trying to put the pieces together.”
Cummings said she would not rejoin the show even without Barr.
“Everyone is just so desperate to preserve the legacy of a show that touched so many people and with such incredible actors on the show … and so many writers, everyone is trying to just stop the bleeding and preserve all the damage that has been done,” Cummings said.
The “Roseanne” premiere in March was the highest-rated scheduled scripted show of the past few seasons, with about 18.1 million viewers.
Trump had publicly touted the show’s ratings and called Barr to congratulate her.
