Puppies take over Capitol for Pet Night
SPOTTED: Some seriously precious — and patriotic — pooches and other furry friends holding court at the Capitol for “Pet Night on Capitol Hill.”
The Wednesday event, hosted by the nonprofit Human Animal Bond Research Institute, the Pet Food Institute and the Pet Advocacy Network brought together lawmakers, staffers and oodles of registered therapy animals at the Cannon House Office Building.
The aim of the gathering, organizers said, was to “highlight the impact of the human-animal bond on Americans’ mental and physical health and focus on the importance of pet-friendly legislation and policies.”
There was even a four-legged celeb amongst the human and canine crowd: Winston, a French bulldog and last year’s National Dog Show champion, was seen sporting a red, white, and blue look while mugging for fans.
