‘Friends’ star Matthew Perry dead at 54

Actor Matthew Perry has died at the age of 54 of an apparent drowning, according to multiple sources.

The actor, most well-known for his role as “Chandler Bing” in the sitcom “Friends” that ran from 1994 to 2004, was reportedly found dead in a hot tub in his Los Angeles home Saturday, according to The Los Angeles Times.

Perry has had struggles with addiction, but drugs were not found at the scene, according to Forbes.

First responders found him unconscious in the late afternoon and could not revive him, law enforcement sources told Deadline. His death is reportedly an ongoing investigation.

“We responded to the 1800 block of Blue Sail Rd for a death investigation on a male 4:10 pm this afternoon. He was in his 50s,” the Los Angeles Police Department said in a statement, according to Forbes.
