Maya Rudolph hits Trump at Oscars: ‘Mexico is not paying for the wall’

It didn’t take long for a President Trump-related quip to be delivered at the Academy Awards, with Maya Rudolph hitting the commander in chief within the first minute of the broadcast.

“Just a quick update for everybody in case you’re confused,” the actress and former “Saturday Night Live” cast member said at the start of Sunday’s awards show in Hollywood.

“There is no host tonight,” Rudolph, 46, told the crowd as she stood alongside comedians Amy Poehler and Tina Fey. “There won’t be a popular movie category. And Mexico is not paying for the wall.”

Trump has long said Mexico would pay for a wall along the U.S. southern border. Last month, he claimed Mexico would pay for the barrier through the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), which was signed in November but has yet to be ratified by Congress.
