Ex-Trump State official Morgan Ortagus announces new SiriusXM show

Morgan Ortagus says that while many political consultants argue presidential elections aren’t focused on foreign policy, “2024 is going to be different.”

“I think that people feel a very deep unease about the fact that there is chaos and war in almost every major theater on this planet. And I think that has people worried and concerned,” Ortagus, a spokesperson for the State Department under former President Trump, said.

That’s why, she told ITK exclusively Tuesday, she’s launching her new weekly SiriusXM radio program, “The Morgan Ortagus Show.”

“I want this radio show to be a place where anybody of any educational background can listen in and understand the issues,” the Polaris National Security founder said.

“This is not going to be a show just for people who are in think tanks or who have been diplomats and worked on foreign policy. Rather, this is going to be a show for everybody to understand: Why did Hamas do what they did? Why are they a terrorist group? What are their aims? What are their goals? What does Israel have to do to defend itself?”

Ortagus’s first guests when her two-hour show debuts at 11 a.m. Sunday on SiriusXM’s Patriot channel will include former Trump national security adviser Robert O’Brien and Republican Sens. Lindsey Graham (S.C.) and Marco Rubio (Fla.).

Ortagus, who ran for the Republican nomination in last year’s Tennessee House race after receiving an endorsement from Trump, said she wants to host Democrats, too.

“I want it to be a place for debate,” she said.

Ortagus said she’ll be popping up in different parts of the world for the live show, broadcasting from Doha, Qatar, for her launch.

But when she’s not traveling, Ortagus said she’ll be saddling up at home in Nashville, Tenn., with her daughter, Adina, before taking the reins of her Sunday show.

“My daughter is 3 now, and normally we take her on Sunday mornings to go for a little horsey ride. She’s learning to ride a pony and how to take care of a pony,” Ortagus said.

“We’ll take her for her little horse riding lessons and then I’ll run over to Sirius and share what’s going on in the world.”

And thanks to the beauty of radio, Ortagus quipped, “I can come in my chaps.”
