GOP lawmaker announces marriage: ‘Perfect end to 2023’

Rep. Kevin Kiley (R-Calif.) is entering 2024 as a married man — he announced he tied the knot just days before the new year.

“Perfect end to 2023,” Kiley wrote on social media this week.

He married Chelsee Gardner in a church in Auburn, Calif., on Saturday, his office announced.

Gardner works at the nonprofit Agape International Missions.

The 38-year-old lawmaker and Gardner met at a Fourth of July community event in Rocklin, Calif. Kiley then proposed last summer at the same park.

The pair, who will live in Roseville, Calif., said in a statement that they’re “grateful for the love and support they receive from their family and friends as they embark on this journey together as husband and wife.”
