President Trump says he’s “finally” seeing eye-to-eye with his longtime critic, Cher, when it comes to immigration.
The commander in chief tweeted a screen shot of a tweet from the “Believe” singer on Monday, in which Cher questioned California’s sanctuary policies.
“I finally agree with Cher!” he wrote.
The original tweet a day earlier from the 72-year-old Academy Award-winner appeared to respond to a controversial proposal by Trump to send detained migrants to “sanctuary cities,” those which do not cooperate with federal immigration authorities.
Trump tweeted Saturday that his administration has “the absolute legal right to have apprehended illegal immigrants transferred to Sanctuary Cities.”
“I Understand Helping struggling Immigrants, but MY CITY (Los Angeles) ISNT TAKING CARE OF ITS OWN,” Cher wrote in the post. “If My State Can’t Take Care of Its Own(Many Are VETS)How Can it Take Care Of More.”
Cher has been one of Hollywood’s most vocal critics of Trump, saying the president “spew[s] hate” and accusing him of “destroying” America.
