Taylor Swift officially joins Forbes billionaires list

Taylor Swift officially joined Forbes’ World’s Billionaires list Tuesday, according to the financial publication.

The “Holy Ground” singer ranked at number 2,545 on this year’s billionaires’ list with a net worth of $1.1 billion, in the wake of a massive period of success for the American singer-songwriter. Swift arguably dominated the world of pop culture in 2023 alongside fellow star Beyoncé, with their beloved albums “Midnights” and “Renaissance” and incredibly popular “Renaissance” and “Eras” tours.

According to a Forbes profile on Swift, she is “the first musician to make the ranks solely based on her songs and performances.” The profile also says that Swift’s fortune includes over $500 million “in estimated wealth amassed from royalties and touring, plus a music catalog worth $500 million and some $125 million in real estate.”

Amid her recent success, Swift has also been the subject of conspiracy theories from the right, which focused on the idea that the NFL fixed games for the team of Swift’s boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, so that the couple could go to the Super Bowl and endorse President Biden, which she did not do at the annual championship game.

Last month, Swift urged her fans to vote on Super Tuesday via a post to her Instagram story, stating she “wanted to remind you guys to vote the people who most represent YOU into power.”

“If you haven’t already, make a plan to vote today,” she continued.

Swift then told her fans to “check their polling places and times” and linked to Vote.org, the voting platform Swift has promoted in the past.
