Academy Award-winner Kevin Spacey delivered a holiday message in character as “House of Cards” president Frank Underwood, marking the second consecutive year he has done so on Christmas Eve.
In a video titled “KTWK,” which stands for kill them with kindness, Spacey’s Underwood says he wants to cast a vote for “more good in this world.”
“As we walk into 2020, I want to cast my vote for more good in this world,” Spacey says with Underwood’s characteristic Southern accent in front of a roaring fire.
“Ah yes, I know what you’re thinking: Can he be serious? I’m dead serious. And it’s not that hard, trust me. The next time someone does something you don’t like, you can go on the attack,” he says. “But you can also hold your fire and do the unexpected. You can kill them with kindness.”
The video comes a year after Spacey posted a video titled, “Let Me Be Frank,” which appeared to address the indecent assault charges he was facing at the time. That video has been viewed more than 11 million times on YouTube.
“You wouldn’t believe the worst without evidence, would you? You wouldn’t rush to judgments without facts, would you? Did you?” Spacey said in the video.
During pre-trial hearings in the case, the 18-year-old accuser’s mother admitted to deleting text messages from her son’s cellphone related to the case, prompting a judge to dismiss the case.
Prosecutors in Massachusetts dropped the charges against Spacey in July.
