Bon Iver to perform at Harris rally in Wisconsin

Indie folk band Bon Iver will perform at a Wednesday campaign rally for Vice President Harris in Eau Claire, Wis., according to the Democratic Party of Wisconsin.

The Grammy-winning band, originally from Eau Claire, will open for Harris and her yet-to-be-announced vice presidential candidate, who will be unveiled Tuesday before a Philadelphia rally.

Harris has committed to a packed campaign schedule in the coming week, with a swing-state tour starting Tuesday. Joined by her vice presidential pick, Harris will hit seven state in five days, with Michigan, Georgia, Arizona, North Carolina and Nevada following the first events in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

That’s a significantly heavier schedule than Trump, who has only one Montana rally planned for the same period. Trump’s running mate, Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio), reportedly will have a series of press events in battleground states following Harris’s rallies.

Bon Iver also performed at a presidential campaign event for Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) in 2020, and lead singer Justin Vernon has said he prefers progressive politicians like Sanders and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.)

Vernon was also part of a nonpartisan get-out-the-vote effort ahead of the 2020 general election.

“I try not to judge people,” Vernon said at the time. “The temperature of our society has us divided. We all want different things, so that makes sense in one way, but in another, I feel we are unduly divided. We all need to listen more. And the best way we can communicate with each other on this largest scale is vote.”

The Wisconsin lineup comes a week after Harris was joined in Atlanta by rapper Megan Thee Stallion. The vice president also appeared alongside *NSYNC member Lance Bass last month on her campaign’s TikTok account.

Finalists to be Harris’s partner on the Democratic ticket include Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear, as well as Sen. Mark Kelly (Ariz.).
