Kerry Washington reunites with ‘Scandal’ co-star Tony Goldwyn at DNC
“Scandal” stars Kerry Washington and Tony Goldwyn reunited on stage at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago on Thursday, taking a selfie video with the crowd for social media.
Washington took to the stage first, touting her support for Vice President Harris and revving up Democrats in the audience.
“I am standing on this stage but I am not the lead character in this story,” she said, calling Democrats and Harris supporters “the superheroes in this story.”
“You are the fixers — dare I say it, you are the Olivia Pope’s,” she said, referencing her character, a political fixer, from the ABC drama.
Washington then asked for someone to bring her phone over, and Goldwyn, who played the president on the show, appeared with it from backstage, prompting the crowd to erupt in cheers.
The two then chanted with the crowd, “when we fight, we win.”
The appearance was one of several from celebrities on the final night of the convention, ahead of Harris’s address accepting the nomination.
