Trump thanks Patrick Mahomes’s wife for ‘so strongly defending me’

Former President Trump thanked Brittany Mahomes for “so strongly defending me” after she liked a post on Instagram from the GOP nominee last month.

“I want to thank beautiful Brittany Mahomes for so strongly defending me, and the fact that MAGA is the greatest and most powerful Political Movement in the History of our now Failing Country,” Trump wrote Wednesday in a post on Truth Social, referring to the wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

“With Crime and Illegal Immigration totally out of control, INFLATION Ravaging all Americans, and a World that is laughing at the stupidity of our hapless ‘leaders,’ it is nice to see someone who loves our Country, and wants to save it from DOOM,” he added. “What a great couple – See you both at the Super Bowl!”

Brittany Mahomes faced criticism in August for liking the former president’s post titled “The 2024 GOP Platform.” It featured a list of 20 issues a potential second Trump administration would prioritize, including the “largest deportation operation in American history” and “ending” inflation.

The engagement was seemingly removed later, but the NFL star’s wife has also liked comments on posts promoting “Trump-Vance 2024.”

She responded to the flack she received online in her own Instagram post last month.

“I mean honestly, to be a hater as an adult, you have to have some deep rooted issues you refuse to heal from childhood,” Mahomes wrote on the platform. “There’s no reason your brain is fully developed and you hate to see others doing well.”

Her husband did not publicly endorse a presidential candidate in the 2020 election, according to a recent interview with Time magazine. It is unclear whether he will choose the same path in 2024, but his comments to the outlet suggest it is likely.

“I don’t want to pressure anyone to vote for a certain president,” Mahomes told the magazine in April.

“I want people to use their voice, whoever they believe in,” he added. “I want them to do the research.”
