Obama gives ‘brat summer’ his seal of approval: Charli XCX ‘knows what she’s doing’

Former President Obama is offering his official endorsement of Charli XCX and a brat summer but says he’s “had it” with people who aren’t registered to vote.

The 44th president appeared on an episode of the “I’ve Had It” podcast released Thursday. During the sit-down, Obama was asked by co-hosts Angie “Pumps” Sullivan and Jennifer Welch to weigh in on whether he “had it” or “hit it” — expressing his approval or dissatisfaction on a variety of subjects.

“Had it or hit it: Brat summer?” the co-hosts asked their high-profile guest, referring to the term popularized by 32-year-old singer Charli XCX.

“Hit it. I just put out my playlist, and ‘365’ is on it. And it is a great album,” Obama said.

“Charli XCX, she knows what she’s doing,” he added.

Charli XCX made headlines in July when she complimented Vice President Harris by writing on social media, “Kamala IS brat.”

Obama also gave his seal of approval to almonds, referring to the nuts as his “favorite snack,” and staunchly defended sporting a tan suit 10 years after doing so ignited a sartorial controversy.

“I looked remarkable in that tan suit,” Obama, 63, boasted. “Obviously some people weren’t ready for it, but any folks out there who are thinking about a tan suit, especially in the middle of summer, go for it. Live a little,” he said.

But Obama objected to Project 2025, a hard-right policy blueprint for the next GOP administration produced by the Heritage Foundation that former President Trump and his campaign have worked to distance themselves from.

“We sure can’t have it in the White House,” Obama said of Project 2025.

He also indicated that he’s absolutely had it with people who aren’t registered to vote.

“But for those of you who are unregistered and are not thinking about voting, I haven’t permanently had it with you,” he said, before making an appeal to register.

“Especially young people, I always tell them: You wouldn’t let your grandparents make decisions about what you wear or what you listen to, so why are you letting them make decisions without any input from you about the kind of country that you’re going to be living in?” Obama said.
