Harris lauds Maya Rudolph’s ‘SNL’ impression: ‘She’s so good’
Vice President Harris is endorsing Maya Rudolph’s “Saturday Night Live” impression of her, calling it “so good.”
“I hadn’t seen that!” Harris exclaimed during a Tuesday appearance on ABC’s “The View,” after being shown a clip of Rudolph mimicking her on a recent “SNL.”
In the sketch, Rudolph as Harris, said, “I’m so happy to be campaigning whatever swing state I’m in, which I’ll just refer to as Wiscon-Pennsyl-Va-Georgia.”
“Because I’m going to protect your Va-Georgia,” Rudolph declared in the faux stump speech.
“Maya Rudolph — she’s so good,” Harris told “The View’s” co-hosts.
“She had the whole thing — the suit, the jewelry, everything. The mannerisms,” the vice president added with a laugh.
Rudolph had previously said that Harris offered her seal of approval to the comedian’s impersonation.
“I’m thrilled to be associated with it, and I’m also glad that I’ve played [Harris] and everyone’s cool with it. She likes it,” Rudolph told Variety in an interview last month.
Rudolph said her approach to Harris was an attempt to tap into the vice president’s playful side.
“I said, ‘When I see her, I see her having fun,’” she said.
