A sarcastic statue dedicated to Jan. 6, 2021, insurrectionists was unveiled in front of the Capitol on Thursday morning. The piece features a bronze shaped pile of feces resting atop a desk with California Rep. Nancy Pelosi’s (D) name above a short paragraph explaining the monument.

“This memorial honors the brave men and women who broke into the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021 to loot, urinate and defecate throughout those hallowed halls in order to overturn an election,” the statement reads.

Protesters stormed the Capitol more than three years ago, injuring officers on site and seeking to harm lawmakers that were ratifying the 2020 election.

Former President Trump questioned the election results declaring President Biden the rightful winner and made posts on social media urging his supporters to force then-Vice President Mike Pence to overturn the election.

“President Trump celebrates these heroes of January 6th as ‘unbelievable patriots’ and ‘warriors,'” the plaque continued, adding that the structure stands as “testament to their daring sacrifice and lasting legacy.”

To date, Trump and his running mate, Ohio Sen. JD Vance (R), have refused to admit the former president lost the election.

The monument is currently being watched by a security guard while it remains in place for seven days.

A group named Civic Crafting received approval from the National Park Service to erect the statue days before the 2024 general election, in which Trump is in a narrow race with Vice President Harris.
