Rep. Yarmuth fuels Ashley Judd for Senate rumors
{mosads}“I think she’s very interested in becoming a candidate for some office,” Yarmuth said of the 44-year-old entertainer, a Democrat, in an interview earlier this week.
“Now, whether it’s next year against [Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.)], whether it’s [Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.)], whether it’s for some other office, I don’t know. But she’s a very serious potential candidate.”
Rumors have swirled for months that Judd will challenge McConnell in 2014. At least one poll in the state has shown Judd to be the most popular of several potential Democratic candidates, and suggest she would be competitive against the Senate minority leader.
