Report: First lady posing for Vogue

First lady Michelle Obama is being photographed at the White House on Thursday for her second Vogue cover, according to a report.

The first lady made her debut on Vogue’s March 2009 cover, shortly after President Obama won his first term. She will likely appear on the March 2013 cover this time around, Washingtonian reports.

Famed photographer Annie Leibovitz and a crew from Vogue were spotted at the White House Thursday, prompting several tweets from reporters who cover the presidency.

CBS correspondent Mark Knoller also tweeted that a representative from Vogue was on the press plane to and from Las Vegas on Tuesday.

{mosads}That news, along with reports President Obama is not in the West Wing (and has nothing on his public schedule), has prompted speculation he could be part of the action, possibly joining the first lady for the photography session, which is said to be taking place in the residence.

Michelle Obama’s office did not return a request or comment. A spokeswoman for Vogue said: “We don’t comment on rumors about future editorials.”

Vogue editor Anna Wintour was a top bundler for the Obama campaign in 2012, raising over $2 million for his reelection effort, according to The New York Times. She also attended a state dinner last March for British Prime Minister David Cameron.
