Streisand to headline LGBT Clinton fundraiser

Actress and singer Barbra Streisand will reportedly headline an LGBT fundraiser for Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton in New York City next month.

{mosads}BuzzFeed obtained an invitation to the event that said Streisand will be performing for donors Sept. 9 at Cipriani Wall Street. The fundraiser is geared towards LGBT donors.

Ticket prices for the event range from $1,200 to $250,000. Those who pay at least $100,000 will be able to meet Clinton.

The fundraiser benefits the Hillary Victory Fund, a joint fundraising account that supports the Democratic National Committee and Clinton’s campaign.

Streisand, long considered a gay icon, has been an outspoken supporter of Clinton, whom she endorsed last year.

“I want Hillary Clinton to be president,” the performer told ABC at the time. “We need a woman president, we need compassion [and] we need to have a person who comes from the heart.”
