Curt Schilling says he wants to run for president
Former Boston Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling on Wednesday said he is getting “more serious” about running for the Senate and that he would like to run for president as well.
{mosads}Speaking in an interview with TMZ about the current race, Schilling heaped praise on Donald Trump.
“We want the anti-establishment person,” Schilling said. “There will never be a more anti-establishment person than him, unless I eventually run for the White House, which is a possibility.”
Schilling added that he’s thinking seriously about running against Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) in 2018.
“It’s something I’m getting more serious about,” he said, though he added that if Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker ran for president, he would run to replace him as well.
“Six to eight years from now I’d love to give the White House a try,” Schilling said. “Here’s the cool thing, I live in a country where I can say that and it’s actually a realistic possibility.”
