Stephen King: You won’t hear a ‘cogent and kind’ speech like Obama’s from Trump
Author Stephen King early Wednesday lamented the end of President Obama’s time in the White House, telling his followers that they “won’t hear anything so cogent and kind for a long time.”
“Hope you enjoyed Obama’s speech. You won’t hear anything so cogent and kind for a long time. So, with complete sincerity: THANKS, OBAMA,” King tweeted following Obama’s farewell address Tuesday night.

Earlier this week, King called President-elect Donald Trump’s reaction to Meryl Streep’s Golden Globes speech “childish.”
“Trump’s response to Meryl Streep—childish, churlish, petulant—is exactly why most Americans fear his presidency,” the famous horror author and outspoken Trump critic tweeted on Monday. “Emtoionally [sic] unqualified.”

Trump tweeted that Streep was “over-rated” following a speech in which she criticized Trump for impersonating a disabled journalist at one of his campaign rallies.

At the end of his speech, Obama echoed his 2008 campaign slogan: “Yes we did. Yes we can.”
